A rich, smoky aroma fills your kitchen as you prepare this vegan enchilada sauce. Spices in perfect balance with the sweet notes, all wrapped in a silky texture.

  • 8 Ounce Can Tomato Sauce
  • 1 1/2 Cups Water
  • 2 Tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1/4 Tsp Chipotle Powder
  • 1/4 Tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/8 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Smoked Paprika
  • Step 1 Combine the tomato sauce, water, cornstarch, chili powder, chipotle powder, onion powder, garlic powder, and smoked paprika in a saucepan. Stir well to mix all the ingredients.
  • Step 2 Place the saucepan over medium heat. Continuously stir the mixture to ensure it’s smooth and lump-free.
  • Step 3 Cook until the sauce reaches your desired thickness.

This vegan enchilada sauce is a delicious way to add extra nutrition and flavor to your whole plant food meals.  Use it in your favorite enchilada recipes, as a dip, or as a savory sauce in various dishes.  I love it on tofu rancheros, which I will link here when I get that recipe up.
